FREE BEER...TOMORROW
I was watching the Travel Channel last night and Andrew Zimmern was in Key West at a restaurant/bar and had just come in from a day of fishing. He and the guest were sitting at a bar and the sign behind them read ‘Free Beer Tomorrow.’ - obviously anyone with a brain knows this is not true and just a funny sign.
Then I get this email last night before heading off to bed to dream about…
I received this email from a real estate agent in South Carolina. It was fitting as Susan and I are getting ready to list our house in Murrell’s Inlet.
Hi Anthony & Susan,
This past Thursday (August 30th) I had sent out an email wishing you a fantastic Labor Day Weekend. In that email I also mentioned I was picking up the tab for ALL DINE IN ORDERS at Clean Eatz in Murrells Inlet on Friday August 31st. I wanted to treat you and your family to a tasty meal to start the Holiday off right! Unfortunately, our email servers were delayed in processing some of the messages. As a result, a few of the messages were not delivered until AFTER the Holiday Weekend.

Hmmmmm… Interesting. I’m always looking at marketing and thought WOW… He was going to buy dinner for EVERYONE at Clean Eatz last Friday. Great guy. This could have easily been thousands of dollars!
Then the skeptical Eric comes out as I reread the email…
Oh. There was an issue with ‘emails being delivered’ Now he, because he is such a standup guy is offering a free smoothie or a cup of coffee at a dollar or two a pop. So he might have to pay out $50, maybe $100 if people take him up on this offer.
I went back and looked at my emails and there was NEVER a delayed receipt. I NEVER received an email from this guy, in fact, this was the first email I have EVER received from this guy.
Cynical me hopes that my believe is not true…
I was thinking that next Monday I’ll send out an email to everyone in Frederick saying that I was gonna buy you a dinner at Dutch’s Daughter but you never received your email, so please accept this $1 coffee instead.
