THE COLOSSEUM AND IMPACTCLUB

Last October we went to Rome and then on a Mediterranean Cruise around the Greek Islands with our friend Gaylen and Pete.  It was a great time, got to see some historic places.  Unique mom and pop restaurants with the freshest food you’ve ever had.  Overall it was just a wonderful experience and I am always in awe of the history of these ancient cities.

Our first stop was in Rome.  What a Beautiful city with stunning architecture.

One of the wonders of the world is the Colosseum in Rome, started in 70 A.D., and opened ten years later, nearly 2,000 years ago.  Imagine the planning that went into building a structure 2,000 years ago that could hold 50,000 plus spectators!

The architects didn’t wake up one day and decide to throw some blocks together and build the Colosseum.  There were years of planning that went into building a structure that has been standing for 2,000 years and one that is still one of the worlds most visited architectural miracles ever built.

Imagine the 60,000 people that had to build the Colosseum.  Do you think while they were laboring day after day after day for 10 years placing each block, building each stepping stone on the stairs that these 60,000 knew the overall vision of the finished product?

No, they knew their specific job!

The same can be said for ImpactClub®.  No, I am not comparing ImpactClub® to the Colosseum as an apples to apples comparison but what I am comparing is the long-term vision and then the day-to-day activities that go into the growth of ImpactClub®.

The architect of ImpactClub® is Ryan Fletcher.  He has a vision of where the ImpactClub® will be in 3 years, 5 years, 20 years.  See, he is not building the ImpactClub® solely as a funding source for local charities, he is building the ImpactClub® as a pillar in communities to help those members of the local clubs be able to better share, tell, and distribute their story and their message.  As a resource for the local charities to learn how to tell a better story so they don’t have the fundraising issue that SO MANY local charities have.

And there are other aspects of ImpactClub® that I have no clue about what Fletcher is planning!

I’m just one of the workers here to help Ryan construct his own Colosseum.  Yes, as a co-founder, I have a role in the growth and success of the ImpactClub® but it is Ryan’s vision and leadership that us co-founders, the nearly 1,700 current members (and growing everyday), and all the local charities that have presented and will present.

One of the jobs that I have and I started yesterday was a direct text to EVERY member of ImpactClub® Frederick.

Yes, it is a tedious task, but one that I have found important.

Over the span of 3 days and about 6 hours I will text every member reminding them of our event next Tuesday at the Blue Side.  It’s important because people are busy and some forget to update their calendar.  And I have found that a direct text/message the week before the event increases our attendance tremendously.

Each member has received or will receive in the next 2 days:

[Name],

Hope you are well.  A final reminder ImpactClub® is next Tues, 14th at The Blue Side.

Registration will start at 6p.

Would LOVE to get to $30,000 donation this event.  If you bring a guest, I will give you 2 additional drink tickets to treat your guest.  Once people come and feel the electricity in the room, they join.

Thanks.

Eric

So, while Ryan is the architect and is working tirelessly on the 3, 5, 20 year vision, we play our part in helping achieve that vision:

Soon to be the largest club of giving individuals on earth, impacting local communities.

Impact Club® is Crossfit® for those who want to make a difference. We are Impact Venture Capitalists. There are local and national leaderboards. We compete. We use our intelligence, connections, propensity to solve problems, committed hearts, and unrelenting conviction to turn small donations into huge impact.

I want to thank you for being a part of ImpactClub® Frederick and we will see you next week!!!
